The Dhaka Times Desk A huge gold deposit has been discovered in Turkey. It is known to have reserves of 3.5 million ounces or 99 tons of gold.
The market value of this huge gold reserve is estimated at 6 billion dollars. The country's state news agency Anadolu gave this information in a report.
Fakhruddin Payraj, head of The Agricultural Credit Cooperatives of Turkey and Gubretash Fertilizer Production Firm, said the mine was found near the city of Sagut in central-western Turkey.
"We found assets (gold) worth about $6 billion," he told Anadolu news agency. He also said, 'within two years we will extract gold for the first time and add its value to the Turkish economy.'
Meanwhile, after the news of getting a new gold mine, the share price of Guberetash Company has already increased by 10 percent in Turkey's stock market, Borsa Istanbul.
Fakhruddin Payraj said that Gubaretash Fertilizer got ownership of this land from another company through a court ruling in 2019. They themselves will arrange to extract gold from this mine.
