The Dhaka Times Desk On the occasion of National Voter's Day, the Bangladesh Election Commission (EC) will provide an opportunity to become a voter immediately on March 2.

You can become a voter by taking the information and proof to the upazila, regional, district and divisional offices of the Election Commission. This time, the day will be observed on a small scale due to the Corona situation. Election Commission Joint Secretary Asduzzaman gave this information on Monday (February 22).
Due to Corona, there is no big gathering to celebrate the National Voter's Day. However, various programs will be aired on private TV channels including television in Bangladesh to make voters aware. Crore paper will be published in the national newspaper. The election building of the capital Dhaka will be illuminated.
Election Commission Joint Secretary Asaduzzaman said that becoming a voter is an ongoing process. However, on voter day, one can go to the EC office and register the voter immediately. Name, address and related information of new voters will be collected and verified. Only then they will be voted. A committee has been formed for that.
It is known that National Voter's Day is being celebrated for the third time in the country. As per the law, all the existing voter lists in the computer database will also be updated from January 2 to March 1.
Note that National Voter's Day is a 'B' category day. Days related to promotion campaigns remain in 'B' category. For that, Election Commission has taken these programs to increase awareness among voters.
