The Dhaka Times Desk HT Imam, Political Adviser to the Prime Minister passed away (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Raziun). He died on Wednesday (March 3) at 1:15 p.m. while undergoing treatment at CMH in the capital.
Awami League Secretary and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Barrister Biplab Barua confirmed this information. He said that he died on Wednesday night (March 03) while undergoing treatment at Dhaka's Combined Military Hospital (CMH).
He was 82 years old at the time of his death. He was suffering from various diseases related to old age including kidney complications for a long time. He was admitted to Dhaka's CMH on February 7 in an ill condition.
The President has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of HT Imam. Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
It should be noted that since 2014, Hossain Taufiq Imam (HT Imam) has been serving as political advisor to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Before this, he served as an advisor to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina after the formation of the Awami League government in 2009. First, HT Imam was the Prime Minister's Adviser on Public Administration.
