The Dhaka Times Desk The rules for booking train tickets in advance have been changed. Bangladesh Railway has changed the rule of advance train ticket booking 10 days before the journey, according to the new rules, the train ticket can be booked from 5 days before the journey.

According to the notification, from April 5, advance train tickets can be issued 5 days in advance instead of 10 days. Charges have also been fixed for ticket refunds.
New Ticket Refund Charges:
48 hours before departure of the train the advance price of the ticket will be refunded subject to deduction of service charges. In this case, a service charge of Tk 40 will be deducted for AC tickets, Tk 30 for first class, Tk 25 for other classes.
# states that if the ticket is returned less than 48 hours before the departure of the train, 25 percent will be deducted and the remaining amount will be refunded.
# Train departure less than 24 hours and more than 12 hours before departure, 50% will be deducted and the remaining amount will be paid.
75% deduction if ticket is returned less than 12 hours and more than 6 hours from departure of # train. However, tickets will be non-refundable less than 6 hours after departure of the train.
These new rules will be effective from April 5 this year.
