The Dhaka Times Desk There are many things we don't know about Holy Shabbat Meraj. What actually happened on this holy night? That will be discussed today.
Isra means to travel by night. The special journey of the Prophet (PBUH) from Makkah to Baitul Muqaddas is known as Isra. And Miraj means means of ascent or upward travel. It is meant to travel from the surface to the cosmos. Going from Baitul Muqaddas to Sidratul Muntaha on the seven heavens and returning from there to Baitul Muqaddas is known as Miraj.
Almighty Allah says in the Holy Qur'an, 'Holy is that being, who made His servant travel at night from Masjid Haram to Masjid Aqsa. whose quarters I have blessed, to show him My signs, He is the All-Hearing and the All-Seeing.' (Surah Bani Israel, verse 1)
Allah also said, 'Surely he saw him (Jibril) once more. Near the cedar tree that marks the border. Where there is residence. When the Sidra tree is covered as much as it is covered. Then he was not deluded nor transgressed. Undoubtedly he witnessed the best signs of his Lord.' (Surah Nazam, Verses: 13-18)
Baitul Muqaddas Gaman
On the authority of Anas bin Malek (RA), Rasulullah (SAW) said, 'Borak was brought—Borak is an animal taller than a donkey and shorter than a mule whose stride is as far as the eye can see. I climbed it and came to Baitul Muqaddas. Then tie the vehicle to a ring, the prophets and messengers used to tie the vehicle with it. I entered the mosque and prayed two rakats. When I came out of the mosque, Gabriel (a.s.) brought two pots to me. One for wine and the other for milk. I take the milk container. Jibraeel (A.S.) said, You have accepted what is natural.
Meeting with the Prophets
Gabriel (a.s.) accompanied the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.) during the seven-day journey, some prophets met him. In the second heaven with Jesus bin Maryam and Yahya bin Zakaria (a.s.), in the third heaven with Yusuf (a.s.), and in the fourth heaven with Idris (a.s.), and in the fifth heaven with Harun (a.s.)- Along with this, he met Ibrahim (a.s.) on his way to the sixth heaven and Musa (a.s.) on his way back.
How five times prayer is obligatory
'Then he took me to Sidratul Muntaha. Its leaves are just like elephant ears. Its fruits are like wood. It changes when it is covered by Allah's command. None of God's creations can describe its beauty. Then Allah revealed to me. Then every day and night 50 times obligatory prayer.
Advice of Musa (A.S.) to shorten the prayer
I came to Musa (a.s.). He said that what your Lord has imposed on your Ummah? I said, 50 times prayer. He said you go to Rob and ask him to make it easier. Your Ummah will not be able to observe it. I have examined Bani Israel and know about them as well. Then I went to the Lord and said, O my Lord, make it easy for my Ummah. He prayed 5 times. I went to Musa (a.s.) and said, he reduced it by 5 times. Musa (a.s.) said, Your Ummah will not be able to observe it. Go to your Rob and ask for ease. Thus I kept going back and forth between the great Lord and Musa (a.s.).
In the end, Allah Ta'ala said, 'O Muhammad, you should pray 5 times daily and at night. Every prayer will be rewarded with 10 times of prayer. In this way fifty times prayer will be rewarded. A virtue will be recorded for one who desires a good deed and does not do it. If you do that, ten rewards will be written. Nothing is recorded in the case of one who desires an evil deed and does not do it. Doing so constitutes a sin.'
Then I descended and approached Musa (a.s.). When I told him this time, he said, go to your Lord and ask for ease. I said, I have gone to my Lord many times, now I feel ashamed to go again.' (Muslim, Hadith: 162)
This is how the great Rabbul Alamin made 5 times prayer obligatory on this night of Meraj. So tonight is a very important and virtuous night. In this night, we servants can try to get close to Rabbul Al-Alamin by reciting many tajbih tahrim, reciting the Qur'an and performing nafal prayers. May He grant us the mercy, blessings and virtues of this holy night - Ameen.
Things to do to prevent Corona virus
# stay at home all the time.
# Follow the rules and use mask when going out for emergency.
# three-layer surgical mask can be washed if desired.
# wash clothes after coming home from outside. Or hang it without shaking for at least four hours.
# Wash hands thoroughly (for at least 20 seconds) with soap or liquid before coming outside.
# plastic PPE or eyes, mouth, head after single use
Of course it can be washed thoroughly with detergent and dried.
# Wear PPE made of cloth or clean as described.
# Use a head cap that completely covers the hair.
# Those who have sneeze cough should follow all the rules promulgated by the government. Also, wash hands as directed before and after handling food items, keys, switches, mice, remote controls, mobiles, watches, computer desks, TVs, etc. and after using the bathroom. Those who have dry hands use Moisture after washing their hands. Soap or hand liquid can be used. Why can this virus remain in the crackle (cracked part) of dry hands? Avoid using highly alkaline soaps or detergents.
