The Dhaka Times Desk The government has issued a notification announcing the lockdown from April 5 to April 11 to prevent the spread of the Corona virus. The notification has also given 11 guidelines to be followed during the lockdown period.
This notification was issued yesterday (April 4) from the Cabinet Department.
In the notification titled 'Conditional General Activities/Imposition of Restrictions on Movement to Prevent the Spread of Corona Virus', 18-point instructions have been issued by the Prime Minister's Office on March 29 to review the current situation of Covid-19 infection. Following this, the lockdown will continue from 6 am on April 5 to 12 pm on April 11. 11 guidelines are given in the notification to comply with this deadline.
The instructions given in the notification state-
1. All modes of public transport, road, rail and domestic flights will remain closed. However, this order will not be applicable in the case of providing emergency services of goods transportation production system. Also, the ban will not apply to persons traveling abroad and returning abroad.
2. Law and order and emergency services, such as relief distribution, health care, electricity, water, gas and fuel, fire services, ports, land ports, seaports and seaport operations, telephone and internet services, offices dealing with essential goods and services and their employees and vehicles are excluded from this ban. will be

All government-semi-government, autonomous offices-courts and private offices can bring and take to and from the office under the organization's own transport management with a limited number of manpower required for carrying out urgent work only. Industries and construction will continue. Industrial workers should be brought and taken by the transport management of their respective establishments. BGMEA and BKMEA shall provide field hospitals/medical facilities for their workers at convenient locations near industrial areas.
4. From 6 pm to 6 am no going out of the house except for urgent needs (purchase of medicines and daily necessities, medical services, burial/charity etc.)
5. Only food can be sold and served in eateries and hotel-restaurants. Under no circumstances can you sit and eat food in the hotel-restaurant.
6. Shopping malls and other shops will remain closed. However, shops can buy and sell wholesale and retail products online. In that case, the employees must follow the hygiene rules at all times and cannot go to any other city.
7. The raw market and daily necessities can be bought and sold in the open from 8 am to 4 pm in compliance with hygiene rules. The market authority/local administration will confirm this.
8. Bangladesh Bank will provide necessary instructions regarding the operation of the banking system on a limited scale.
9. The Armed Forces Department will take necessary measures to set up a field hospital at a convenient location in Dhaka.
10. District and field administration across the country will take effective steps to implement the mentioned instructions and law and order forces will strengthen regular patrolling.
11. Strict legal action will be taken against those who violate this order.
Things to do to prevent Corona virus
# stay at home all the time.
# Follow the rules and use mask when going out for emergency.
# three-layer surgical mask can be washed if desired.
# wash clothes after coming home from outside. Or hang it without shaking for at least four hours.
# Wash hands thoroughly (for at least 20 seconds) with soap or liquid before coming outside.

# Use a head cap that completely covers the hair.
# Those who have sneeze cough should follow all the rules promulgated by the government. Also, wash hands as directed before and after handling food items, keys, switches, mice, remote controls, mobiles, watches, computer desks, TVs, etc. and after using the bathroom.
