According to the data published in the media, the number of wills among young people born after 1990 has increased by 60 percent, which is many times higher than in previous years. Chinese people living abroad in particular are increasingly turning to wills to manage their wealth.
According to the report, more than 80 percent of young people are preparing a will to manage their savings. Also those who work with virtual assets like social media accounts are also busy creating wills.
Yang Yingyi, director of the China Will Organization in Guangdong, told state media CCTV that the coronavirus pandemic has made many young Chinese think about death. They wonder if they die and who will take care of their parents and children and what will happen to their wealth.
