Recently, the New York-based financial and data services provider and media company Bloomberg referred to this gas detected in the atmosphere of Bangladesh as 'mysterious' in a report. The recently published report also said that the French company Kairos AAS has identified the 12 highest methane gas emission rates over Bangladesh this year.
Stephen Germain, president of another organization called GHCSAT, said that they also detected methane gas fumes in the atmosphere of Bangladesh. "This is the strongest sustained emission we've ever seen," said Stephen Germain. But we cannot be sure about the source of this gas. The European Space Agency's data analysis firm Bluefield Technologies also detected this methane gas over Bangladesh.
Yotam Ariel, founder of the company said, "Our analysis shows that Bangladesh is one of the highest methane emitting countries in the world. It was seen by satellite. Environment Forest and Climate Change Minister of Bangladesh. Quoting an interview with Shahab Uddin, the Bloomberg report also said that Bangladesh is also aware of the issue. The minister said, it is probably coming from paddy fields. When farmers flood their fields after irrigation, waterlogged soil bacteria can produce large amounts of gas. Another source is landfill gas. We are trying to reduce it.
If the rate of spreading of this harmful methane gas is not brought under strict control, then the current battles or struggles to prevent climate change will not get much results, according to the researchers associated with it.
