Those researchers were mainly researching whether the corona infection can spread through touch. Their paper was published in the journal Clinical Infectious Diseases. However, SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes Covid-19) can survive on human skin for at least 9 hours. However, since the environment inside the laboratory and the outside environment are not the same, experts have opined that the matter needs to be examined in more detail.
Japanese researchers conducted the study by collecting skin samples from the post-mortem covid patient. It shows that within 15 seconds of ethanol application, the corona virus and flu virus are inactivated.
Hand sanitizers usually also contain ethanol. Therefore, researchers emphasize frequent hand washing. The World Health Organization (WHO) has been emphasizing the importance of frequent hand washing to prevent infection since the beginning of this virus.
