There is no end to our curiosity about dinosaurs. Scientists have been studying dinosaurs for ages. This time the issue of new species of dinosaurs has been added to the list of successes. A team of scientists has announced the largest discovery of dinosaurs ever found on the continent of Australia.
The new species of dinosaur has been named 'Australotitan cooperensis' or 'The Southern Titan'. This is known in a recent report by the British media BBC.
Australotitan cuparensis was a member of the titanosaur family. 10 million years ago they roamed the earth. Think about how big their face was?
According to scientists, these Coopers were approximately 16 to 21 feet long and 82 to 98 feet wide. Eromanga National History Museum official Robin McKenzie said, "Compared with all the species of dinosaurs discovered so far, they are one of the 5 largest in the world."
The bones of this dinosaur were first found in 2006 in the area of the McKenzie family farm. Initially, the discovery was kept secret, but the next year, i.e. in 2007, for the first time, their words came out in public.
After years of researching the bones and skeletons found, scientists have come to know that this skeleton is of an animal that represents a new species of dinosaur. The scientists reached this conclusion only after comparing these dinosaurs with the nearest species by using the latest technology and 3D scanning.
Note that many more dinosaur skeletons and bones are found in that area. Scientists believe that what is known so far is only the tip of the iceberg. Scientists are hopeful that more discoveries can be made from this region in the coming days.
