The Dhaka Times Desk A lobster hunter from the United States named Michael Packard was swallowed by a huge humpback whale. The surprising thing is that after being in the stomach of the whale for 30 to 40 seconds, the lobster hunter came back alive!
According to a BBC report, at that time 56-year-old Michael Packard was searching for large shrimp under the sea. Then the huge whale suddenly swallowed him. Then he stays inside the whale's stomach for about 30 to 40 seconds. Then the whale at one point threw him out with saliva from its mouth. Packard was unharmed except for a slightly sprained ankle.
In this regard, Michael Packard said, despite his wife's long-standing requests to take another job, he does not want to leave the diver's profession of 40 years.
Humpback whales are known to grow up to 50 feet in length. Each whale can weigh about 36 tons. According to the World Wildlife Fund, the number of such whales in the world is about 60,000.
Michael Packard said he and his partner took their boat to Herring Cove. The atmosphere there was wonderful. Visibility in the water was about 20 feet.
Michael Packard will feel a huge shock after diving from the boat with scuba gear. Then he sees everything dark. He thought he might be under attack by giant white whales, which usually swim in the area. He was then feeling around that there were no teeth.
It was then that he realized that he had entered the mouth of a huge whale. The whale is trying to swallow him. He felt that everything was over, he was going to die now.
Michael Packard also said, at that time I was thinking about my wife and her two sons. Then suddenly it floated above the water and began to shake its head violently. I was thrown completely into the air and I fell back into the water. I was then freed and floated in the water. I really couldn't believe it….like I'm here to tell the story,'' he recounted to reporters of his survival.
His other partner, who was frantically searching the water for Packard's oxygen bubbles, quickly grabbed him and pulled him into the boat. After he was released from the hospital, reporters rushed to Michael Packard to find out more about his incredible story.
Humpback whales usually eat fish, krill or other food by mouthing as much as possible. But marine scientists say what happened to the Packard was likely just an accident.
