The Dhaka Times Desk Florida state authorities have confirmed the death of 9 people on the fourth day of rescue after the collapse of a 12-story building in Miami, USA. The chances of survival of those trapped are getting slimmer.
Rescue workers believe that the death toll may rise if the debris is removed. Although 3 days have passed since the accident, more than one and a half hundred people are still missing, according to CNN.
According to the news of the international news agency, the rescue operation of those trapped in the rubble is continuing. However, with the increase of time, the possibility of survival of the people trapped by the building collapse is ending.
Miami authorities said buildings around the wreckage were also evacuated. People were safely evacuated from there. Authorities are yet to confirm exactly how many people were in the building. Almost everyone was asleep when the residential building collapsed. A part of the collapsed building is still standing.
Relatives are remembering those killed and missing in the accident with flowers, prayers are also going on in different churches. A 2018 inspection report found serious structural defects in the building, but the accident is believed to have occurred due to lack of renovations.
