Bhagwat also strongly criticized violence in the name of cow protection. In his words, 'cow is a sacred animal. But violence in the name of cow cannot be condoned. The law will follow the law. An impartial investigation is needed. Let the culprits be punished. Whoever is beating in the name of cow protection is not a Hindu anyway.'
