The Dhaka Times Desk Popular musician Fakir Alamgir (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun) passed away due to corona virus.
He died at a hospital in the capital on Friday (July 23) night. The news of his death was confirmed by his son Mashuk Alamgir Rajeev. He was 71 years old at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife and three sons.
Fakir Alamgir's son Mashuk Alamgir Rajeev said that Fakir Alamgir had a heart attack while he was on ventilation in the Covid unit at around 10 pm on Friday. At 10:56 pm, United Hospital's Covid ICU unit in-charge doctor Amina Sultana declared him dead.
Last Monday (July 19) a medical board consisting of expert doctors of United Hospital was formed to treat Fakir Alamgir. On July 18 around 10 pm, he was put on ventilation when his condition deteriorated.
It should be noted that on July 14, Fakir Alamgir was diagnosed with corona virus infection. A day later on July 15, he was admitted to the United Hospital when he developed fever and difficulty in breathing. He was under treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU) of United Hospital in the capital. 60 percent of his lungs were infected due to corona.
During the Liberation War in 1971, Fakir Alamgir was the artist of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra. Before that, Fakir Alamgir made outstanding contributions in the 1969 mass uprising as a member of the Kranti Shilpi group and the Gana Shilpi group. Fakir Alamgir came to pop genre after independence. In 1999, Fakir Alamgir was honored with the Ekushe Padak for his contribution to music.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina condoled the death of Fakir Alamgir.

Those who have dry hands use Moisture after washing their hands. Soap or hand liquid can be used. Why can this virus remain in the crackle (cracked part) of dry hands? Avoid using highly alkaline soaps or detergents.
