Born into a political family, Sheikh Hasina got directly involved in politics right from her student days. He was also active in Chhatra League politics. Sheikh Hasina was the elected vice-president (VP) of Eden College. Sheikh Hasina actively participated in the 6-point and later the 11-point movement and the popular uprising of 69 as the Chhatra League leader. In his political career, he has served as the Prime Minister 4 times and the Leader of the Opposition in the National Parliament 3 times. Also, Sheikh Hasina has been serving as the president of Awami League, the country's oldest political party for 41 years.
