Recently, Google authorities informed about this through a blog post. The multinational technology company has reported that the Chrome browser has received its 11th 'Zero Day' report of the year. Google users on Linux, MacOS and Windows worldwide may be affected due to this.
What is this zero day?
If Google finds any security loophole in any of its content, it fixes it immediately. But if a hacker attacks using it before that patch is released, it is called a zero day exploit.
This is a bit more serious than other security flaws. The reason is that hackers have also got an idea about the security breach that is exploited by exploiting the CVE-2021-37973 flaw.
Google said that they are making every effort to ensure the safety of users. That's why they are keeping all information about the details of the CVE-2021-37973 bug under wraps. Google employees have already found the hackers who broke the security net.
Google marks it as 'high' in terms of risk. That is, the matter is quite a matter of concern. This new Zero Day is the 11th UAF (Use-After-Free) national vulnerability this year. This September, 10 such UAFs were found in the Chrome browser. Because of this, the security of Chrome is gradually increasing around the world.
But Google has already released an important fix. At the same time, the company has warned all users. Google will send this fix to all Chrome users.
How do you know if your Chrome is secure?
Click on the 3 dots on the right side of your Chrome browser. Then Settings>Help>About Google Chrome. Now check if your Chrome version is 94.0.4606.61 or higher.
Only with that you are safe. If it hasn't, update it. If necessary, you have to install Chrome again from the official Chrome site. Only then are you expected to be safe. Google authorities also said the same.
