M. H. Sohail Incidents of attacks on the Hindu community are happening again and again. But due to lack of proper investigation and prosecution, incidents are happening one after another. A vested interest group is trying to achieve political gains.
Our country especially Bangladesh has always maintained communal harmony from the time of birth. Those who are born in this country are citizens of this country irrespective of their religion. They have been enjoying the opportunities of this country equally. No religion was ever seen separately even in the state. Hindu-Muslim, Christian, legal, we are all brothers and sisters. We have never seen any difference between us.
We have been following each other's religion. We have been helping each other in one's religion since the early days. The bond of harmony has existed between us since many ages. But within that bond, a third force keeps coming and destroying our bond. We need to be more vigilant about Comilla and its aftermath. It is our responsibility as citizens of the country to take these issues into consideration. One must also think about who is manipulating the scriptures.
So what is that power? Why are conspirators succeeding again and again? This question can come to everyone's mind. But we have to think deeply about that.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina herself has said after the Comilla incident that nobody will be exempted. But even after the announcement of the Prime Minister, one after another, attacks on temples and Hindu communities are happening! It has become imperative today to find out who is fueling these activities.
It is necessary to find out who is behind these destruction of harmony. Because it is creating anarchy in the country as well as the image of Bangladesh is being destroyed in the outside world. Because Islam never supports such acts of terrorism.
All human beings have equal rights and dignity in the sight of Allah as the children of Hazrat Adam and Hawa alaihiwas salam. No religion ever supports coercion on anyone. The ideology of Islam is more noble in maintaining communal harmony. It is clearly shown in the behavior and mindset of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) towards non-Muslims.
Islam guarantees freedom of all religions. No one will ever stop anyone from practicing religion. Verses of the Qur'an have been revealed to the effect that it is not permissible to make fun of other religions. Allah says:
'Do not revile those whom they call (idolaters) besides Allah. Then they will transgress the limits and, through ignorance, will insult Allah too.' (Surah Anayam: 108)
If a Muslim's neighbor is a non-Muslim, his rights should also be taken care of. This is also an act included in the neighbor's rights. Allah's declaration:
'Allah has not forbidden you to show magnanimity and justice to those who did not fight against you and drive you out of your own country in the matter of religion. Allah loves the righteous.' (Surah Mumtahina: Verse 8)
This is evident from the historical speech of Farewell Hajj. It has been declared in the voice of Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam that-
O mankind! Your God is One and Unique and your Father is One. An Arab is in no way superior to a non-Arab. Likewise, a non-Arab has no superiority over an Arab. A white-skinned man is not superior to a black-skinned man, and black is not superior to white. To evaluate excellence, it will be a matter of judgment, who has fulfilled the right of God and the servant. It is through this that you have the highest honor in the sight of Allah, the one who is the most pious.' (air hockey)
So it is clear that racism, capitalism, social status, caste, etc. can never evaluate human dignity. The division of caste, religion, caste, clan etc. is only for getting to know each other, so that each other can benefit from each other's character and mental qualities. In this case, this declaration of Almighty Allah is very effective. He said that-
'O mankind! I created you from male and female. I have divided you into different clans and tribes so that you may know each other'. (Surah Al-Hujrat: Verse 13)
The clear statement from these verses of the Holy Qur'an is that Islam has never taught to despise any religion. Islam has not taught to hate people of any religion. That is why Islam is called the religion of peace.
But due to some self-interested circles, religion is also getting shortchanged. One day those who are doing such vile deeds in human clothes will have to answer for it. Because the superior always does and will do the right judgement.
