The Dhaka Times Desk Pakistani women's education rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai got married.
Their marriage took place in Birmingham, London. Malala Yousafzai chose Pakistan Cricket Board official Asar Malik as her life partner.
According to a BBC report, 24-year-old Malala announced the news of her marriage in a tweet on Tuesday night.
Malala Yousafzai wrote on Twitter that, 'Today is a very precious day in my life. Asar and I have tied the knot for life. The wedding ceremony was held on a small scale with family members at their home in Birmingham. Everyone pray for us. We want to spend the rest of our lives together.'
However, earlier Malala expressed her disinterest in marriage. In an interview given to a British magazine last June, he said that, 'I don't understand why people have to get married. Why do you have to sign marriage papers if you want someone to be your partner in life? Why can't it be only through collaboration?'
It should be noted that Malala, who was born in a remote area of Pakistan's Swat Valley, was shot by militants at the age of 15 in 2012 because she worked to spread women's education despite the Taliban's obstacles.
In 2014, Malala Yousafzai became the youngest recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. He also recently obtained a graduate degree in philosophy, politics and economics from Oxford University.
