The Dhaka Times Desk A farmer was working in the field. Suddenly saw two 'kittens' suffering from cold. A few days after taking him home with utmost care, he realized his mistake, he saw that he had taken a pair of leopard cubs at home, thinking they were kittens!
One such incident happened in Bajrikhera village of Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh, India. According to the news of Anandabazar newspaper, the farmer named Kiran Giri tries hard to feed the tiger cubs thinking they are kittens. But one day he was surprised to hear the call of the cubs. For, as cats usually call, the tone of the cubs was not at all like that. Rather, it was more like a roar. Kiran Giri was suspected on hearing the sound. On closer inspection, he realized that he actually brought home a pair of leopard cubs! Then he quickly informed the forest department.
The forest department personnel came and rescued the two children from Kiran's house. However, the two children died later as their physical condition was not very good.
According to the sources of the forest department, there are frequent leopard movements in that district. Leopards often enter the locality. In some cases leopards also die at the hands of villagers.
Note that Madhya Pradesh has the highest number of leopards in India. There are 3 thousand 421 leopards in this state.
