On Friday (January 28) from 9 am, polling continued throughout the day in a festive atmosphere at BFDC. The star artists of the two panels faced each other in the election. The two panels are led by the two leading actors, one of whom is the legendary screen hero Ilyas Kanchan and the other is the established villain of Bengali cinema, Misha Saudagar.
Who will the artists choose as the president to lead the Film Artists Association for the next two years, the screen hero or the villain? Film lovers were all wandering around with such questions. But they got the answer to their question. The hero has won.
After a long wait, Chief Election Commissioner Pirzada Haroon said at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, the hero has won in real life like in the movie, not the villain! Ilyas Kanchan also defeated Misha Saudagar in Shilpi Samity polls.
The total number of voters in this election was 428. Out of which 365 people voted, 10 votes were cancelled.
Ilyas Kanchan was elected as the president by getting 191 votes in the election. His rival is Misha Saudagar. He got 148 votes. Zayed has been elected as general secretary for the third time. 11 people were elected from Misha-Zayed Parishad, 10 people were elected from Kanchan-Nipun Parishad.
11 executive members winners are: Anjana 225 votes, Aruna Biswas 192 votes, Amit Hasan 227 votes, Aliraj 203 votes, Kaya 212 votes, Chunnu 220 votes, Jasmine 208 votes, Ferdous 240 votes, Moushumi 225 votes, Rozina 185 votes, Sucharita Elected by getting 201 votes.
Yesterday (Friday) Kanchan and Misha were seen chatting together at BFDC at noon during the voting. Forgetting the rivalry, Kanchan is heard saying this time, "Though the rival candidates are two-faced during the election, we are one. Citizens should know by watching us, others should also learn elections.”
