The artist was hospitalized for about four weeks. Recently his condition was also improving. But yesterday (Saturday) suddenly his physical condition started to deteriorate.
92-year-old Lata was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on January 11 due to Covid-19. He was also suffering from pneumonia. He was kept in ICU from the beginning. On January 30, the artist's Covid negative report came. However, due to age-related problems, he could not fight with death in the end.
Even before this, Lata had to be admitted to the hospital several times in a critical condition. However, every time Kokilkanthi Lata returned home after assuring the fans.
Note that Lata was born on 28 September 1929 in a Marathi family. He lost his father when he was only 13 years old. Before that, however, he started learning acting and singing from his father.
