Suicide is a big problem in our country. When people face various problems, they choose the path of suicide without seeing any way out. However, the person forgets that suicide is not a solution. Family problems such as husband-mother-in-law torture, generation of scoundrels, failure in love etc. are gradually increasing the tendency of suicide in our society. And there is no end to the research.

But now, through a small blood test, it can be known in advance whether someone has a tendency to commit suicide. Recently, researchers at the Indiana University School of Medicine in the United States have identified a series of ribonucleic acid (RNA) components that cause suicidal tendencies in human blood.

The researchers reported that they observed very high levels of this RNA biomarker in the blood of people who attempted or committed suicide. So they say, now using this technology, it can be easily said whether someone has suicidal tendencies. This information can be known very easily only by observing the variation of that specific RNA biomarker in the blood.

IU School of Medicine Director of the Laboratory of Neuroeconomics at the Institute of Psychiatric Research Researcher Dr. Alexander B. Niculescu says, 'Suicidality is a major problem in psychiatry. This has become a major problem in both the military and civilian sectors. But there are no nautical signs to mark it. There are many people who have suicidal thoughts but do not disclose it. When they do this, there is nothing else to do. We are now trying to find a better way to detect this trend. So that something can be done to prevent such a negative tragedy', he said.

Niculescu and his colleagues have studied such patients for more than three years, they said. They also interviewed people with such diseases and collected blood samples every 3 to 6 months. At the same time, they observed variation in the blood RNA samples of those receiving treatment with suicidal tendencies, the researchers said.

And by using that, he discovered how this tendency can be known early through blood tests. It is believed that people can be protected to a large extent from a social disease like suicide through this protective test. References: Bangladesh News24
