However, the age of the bride who was married to a centenarian was not reduced at all. Vishwanath Sarkar, a resident of Murshidabad, West Bengal, India, recently married his 90-year-old daughter Surdhwani. But this is the second marriage of this couple.
In 1953, Suradhwani started her married life with Vishwanath's hand. Then spent 68 years together. So, on the occasion of his hundredth birthday, Vishwanath once again wore a garland around the neck of his long-time partner.
Vishwanath-Suradhwani couple has 6 children. The number of their grandchildren is 23. Basically grandchildren were the main organizers of their weddings. On the occasion of the wedding, Vishwanath-Suradhvani's grandchildren and their sons and daughters also attended the wedding ceremony from far and wide.
About the wedding arrangements, their grandson Pintu Mandal said, the wedding ceremony is arranged in the same way as the new bride comes from the father's house to the in-laws' house.
Since Vishwanath-Suradhvani live in the same house in Beniapukur village of Jiaganj, Surdhavni was brought from their ancestral home of Bamunia village, 5 km away. Surdhwani was taken to that house 2 days ago.
Their granddaughters dressed Surdhvani as a bride in that house. Grandsons also dressed Vishwanath as a groom in Punjabi dhoti. On the occasion of marriage, Bhuri Bhoj is also arranged by inviting neighbors.
