A child named Sagar, who came for treatment at a private children's hospital, has both bad kidneys. The problem was that 9-year-old Sagar would vomit after eating rice. His family took his son to the doctor. After examination, the doctor said that this boy has kidney problem. After coming to the hospital, the doctors said that both of Sagar's kidneys are bad. Dialysis begins. Doctors said, there is no way except kidney transplant. Sagar is currently healthy after a kidney transplant last November.
On the other hand, 9-year-old Warisha Khan's family saw black urine a couple of times. His parents saw the problem. The local doctor said that this happened because of urinary infection. Warisha's family came to a private children's hospital.
It is known that both the kidneys of the girl are damaged. Afzad Khan, a small-time worker, came to Gulshan Colony in Panchannagram, Kolkata with his family for the treatment of his daughter. Warisha suffered a heart attack last year due to kidney failure. For now, preparations are underway to give the girl her mother's kidney.

Effects of certain drugs during pregnancy, birth defects can cause kidney problems in childhood. Doctors said, if the disease is not detected and treatment is not started, there is no other option except kidney transplant.
The International Society of Nephrology and the International Federation of Kidney Foundations have declared the second Thursday of March as 'World Kidney Day' since 2006 to promote awareness about kidney disease. Also, in order to spread awareness, the Institute of Child Health (ICH), a pediatric hospital in Park Circus, Kolkata, started diagnosing kidney disease through health check-up of the backward and street children of the society free of cost for the last one month.
Jaydev Roy, a pediatric specialist, emphasized on early detection of kidney disease. He said that if the disease is detected at an early stage, it will be possible to avoid expensive treatment like kidney transplant. Along with that, donating a kidney does not cause any harm to the body, that should also be understood by everyone. Rajeev Singh, Pediatric Nephrologist, said, "Apart from removing waste from the body, the kidneys perform many other important functions like making blood and strengthening bones.
