The Dhaka Times Desk The 23rd Annual General Meeting of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS), the national trade organization for the information and communication technology sector of Bangladesh, was held.
BASIS President Russell T Ahmed presided over the 23rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of BASIS held at IDEB Bhawan, Kakrail, Capital today, Thursday (March 31). Among others present in the meeting were BASIS Ex-Presidents, BASIS Ex-Directors, Standing Committee Chairmen, Co-Chairmen, BASIS Senior Vice-President Samira Zuberi Himika, Vice-President (Administration) Abu Dawood Khan, Vice-President (Finance) Fahim Ahmed, Directors - AKM Ahmadul Islam Babu, Mushfiqur Rahman, Syed Mohammad Kamal, Tanvir Hossain Khan, Mostafizur Rahman Sohail, Rashad Kabir and BASIS Executive Director Abu Isa Mohammad Mainuddin.
In the meeting, the annual report of BASIS for the year 2021 and the audited financial report for the financial year 2021-2021 were presented and auditors were appointed to audit the income-expenditure accounts for the financial year 2021-22. Based on these reports presented in the meeting, the BASIS members participated in the discussion and gave important opinions.
In the meeting, the members called on the BASIS leaders to play an effective role in the development of information and communication technology sector, especially in creating a business-friendly environment for the BASIS members. In response to this, significant activities implemented by BASIS in the last 3 months include building future-proof human resources, developing local industries, expanding foreign markets, increasing capital and financial incentive facilities, creating a rich ecosystem for startups, formulating policies to support the growth of intangible assets and promoting the IT sector. - Leaders outline BASIS's corporate action plan focusing on these seven pillars. Also in the meeting BASIS President expressed optimism about the implementation of the 100-day action plan of BASIS and sought the spontaneous cooperation of the members in implementing future plans.

In the meeting BASIS President announced to the members that BASIS SoftExpo 2022 will be held from 26-29 October 2022. Also invited to participate in Basis Iftar program on 10th April 2022.
