Using powder in the summer is not causing any danger?

The Dhaka Times Desk As it is already hot, many people have started using talcum powder to prevent sweating. But the use of powder in the heat is not causing any danger?

As Baisakh approaches, the mercury rises to such an extent that many people have started using talcum powder to prevent sweating before the heat falls. But do you know if this powder is good or bad for the body?

What is this talcum powder?

Talcum powder is made from a substance called talc. Talc is a material mainly composed of magnesium, silicon and oxygen. It helps absorb moisture and protect the skin from frictional injuries. Because of this type of powder, as perspiration is controlled, the risk of perspiration and various skin lesions is reduced.

What are the risks of applying talcum powder?

# Some talcum powders contain a substance called asbestos. If this substance enters the body with breath, the risk of cancer increases.

# An American study says that if this powder is used more in the genital area, there is a risk of ovarian cancer.

# Inhalation of this powder may cause sneezing, coughing and shortness of breath. Even long-term damage can occur to lung cells and collars.

# If powders used for children contain this powder, extra precautions are recommended. Respiratory problems can also occur if it passes into the nose of children.

# According to some, this type of powder further blocks the secretions of the sweat glands. That's why it can be counterproductive to stop sweating. So it should be used with caution. Source: Anandabazar Patrika.
