The Dhaka Times Desk Imran Khan became the first Prime Minister in the history of Pakistan to lose the no-confidence vote.
He lost the no-confidence vote at midnight on Saturday (April 9). Former speaker Ayaz Sadiq presided over the session of no confidence vote.
After the vote, panel speaker Ayaz Sadiq announced that 174 members had voted in favor of the proposal. That is why the no-confidence motion against Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan was passed by majority.
174 votes were cast against Imran Khan in the opposition's motion of no confidence. 172 votes were needed to pass the resolution.
Imran Khan was the 22nd Prime Minister of Pakistan. An elected prime minister of the country could not complete his term due to his fall. Meanwhile, there are already reports that Imran Khan has left Islamabad.
After the announcement of the results, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq requested Shahbaz Sharif to give a speech. Shahbaz said in his speech, ``We were waiting to see this new day. Thank you very much to the creator.'
