The Dhaka Times Desk Intel chief Pat Gelsinger said the chip crisis is expected to last until 2023, just six months after he predicted the crisis could be prolonged.
Gelsinger told the US news agency CNBC, "We assume there will be a shortage of semiconductors in 2024 as well." We have already assumed that it will be till 2023. The shortage is now affecting parts and some factories will also face challenges.
But the issue of the chip crisis is constantly changing. All types of chips are affected equally - not exactly. The impact of this shortage is greater in certain industries and parts manufacturing sectors.
Intel's own chip production and supply is doing relatively well compared to others, according to technology site Verge. During the 2022 Q1 financial presentation, Gelsinger said that for the first time in many years, Intel is getting closer to customer demand.
