An accurate account of casualties in war is usually never available. Again, different organizations give different accounts. On February 24, Russia started the war in Ukraine. However, Moscow called it a military operation.
As of May 5, the United Nations says that 14,400 people have died in the war in Ukraine out of 14,200. Out of which 3 thousand 404 civilians died out of which 306 were foreigners. According to the United Nations, 4,400 volunteers died, although according to the Museum of Military, that number is more than 4,600.
The UN says 231 children have died in Ukraine. The parents of this child may have dreamed that they would grow up one day. But before that, the war took away their lives. But they did not know before death what their crime was? A woman died with her unborn child in the city of Mariupol, Ukraine. Not a few Russian soldiers died in the war. BBC News (Russian) reported that 2 thousand 120 Russian soldiers have been killed in this war till May 6.
When will the war end?
Senior US government officials, intelligence officials and senior military officials fear that the Ukraine war could drag on. But no one is saying how long it will be. Even Ukrainian officials are saying the same thing. However, the Russian government has closed its mouth. They start a war but don't talk about ending it. Russia has given some conditions that the military operation will stop only if these conditions are met.
Recently, Ukrainian President Zelensky has claimed that reconciliation can only happen if Russia withdraws its troops to pre-war levels. However, he did not say anything about whether the condition that Russia has given will be accepted or not.
