Walter Orthman of Brazil. This centenarian has been working in the same company for 84 years. Received his recognition. He currently holds the Guinness World Record for longest tenure in the same organization.
On January 17, 1938, Walter Orthmann, a Brazilian, started working as a shipping assistant in a textile company called Industrias Renaux S.A. (now Reneauxview) in Santa Catarina, Brazil. At that time he was only 15 years old. Walter Orthman was later promoted to join the marketing department. More than 8 decades have passed since then. This old man is still working there.
What is the secret of being associated with the same organization for so many years? Walter's simple answer to this question is, I don't plan much. I don't think much about the future. Just thinking that tomorrow will be another day where I wake up, get up, exercise and go to work. His advice to the new generation is that you should be busy with the present, not the past or the future.
