Live animals get burnt to death if they fall into the water of this river. Andrej Ruzo found this mysterious river. In a 2014 TEDx speech, he described his experience with the river and almost all of the research findings. Andres Rujo is a Peruvian geologist. He said, 'There are no volcanoes in the Amazon. And not in most parts of Peru. The place where this boiling river is located is at least 700 km from the nearest volcanic center.
He said, I have seen the hot springs of the Amazon in fairy tales. I could also hear the gentle lapping of the river in the distance. Which was getting stronger as it approached. It sounded like the constant crashing of ocean waves. Then as I got closer I saw smoke and steam coming up through the trees. Then I also saw this boiling river. I immediately took the thermometer to the water and the average temperature was 86 degrees Celsius or 186 degrees Fahrenheit. The river was very hot and flowing fast.'
After following this river, Andrej Ruzo was advancing for some distance and then retreating again. His aim was to experience it in detail. He also noticed a strange thing in this river. And that is, the river has a cold current flowing from the sacred place of the shaman's arena.
Andrej Ruzzo also said, 'I was by no means the first outsider here. It is also an integral part of the daily life of shamans. They drink the water of this river. Take its steam. Also used in cooking. Cleanliness is also done. He even made medicine with river water.'
Andrej Ruzo also said, 'I also measured the temperature along the river. The results there were surprising. At first the river starts to cool - then heats up and cools down again. Heating again, cooling again, heating again. Until the cold water goes into the river and mixes.'
Andrej Ruzo saw various animals lying dead in this river. It also surprised him. When the animals fall into the river, the eyes are first damaged by the extremely hot water. The animal's eyes are boiled very quickly. Still they keep trying to swim across, but slowly their muscles and bones begin to boil. The hot water reaches the point where the animal's mouth is boiled from the inside, after which the animal loses energy. Then they die.
