The diamond was found in the Lulo mine in the northeastern region where diamonds are widely found in the country. The Angolan government described the discovery of this diamond as a rare and pure natural stone as historic. The Angolan government is the partner in this mine.
Lucapo Diamond Company said in a statement that it is the largest diamond ever found. It is reported that the diamond will be sold at an international auction at a staggering price.
It should be noted that previously in Hong Kong in 2017, a pink diamond of 59.6 carats was sold at an auction for 71.2 million US dollars. It is believed to be the most expensive diamond ever sold.
