The Dhaka Times Desk Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS), the national trade organization of the country's software and information technology services sector, is going to organize 'BASIS National ICT Awards' for the fifth time.
108 awards will be given in total 36 categories at this year's event to recognize the innovative products and service projects of the information technology sector of the country. The best awarded projects will participate in the international competition of Apicta Awards, known as the Oscars of the Asia-Pacific IT sector.
A press conference was organized on Tuesday (20 September 2022) at BASIS office. It was informed in the event that those interested to participate in the event have to participate in a competition.

BASIS President Russell T Ahmed presided over the press conference and BASIS National ICT Awards 2022 convener and BASIS Advisory Standing Committee President M Rashidul Hasan, BASIS Advisory Standing Committee Vice President Shah Imraul Qaish, BASIS Advisory Standing Committee Vice President Uttam Kumar were present. In the press conference BASIS President Russell T Ahmed said, through BASIS National ICT Awards, we select innovative and potential IT products and services from across the country through competition and awards are given to recognize and encourage them. These products and services show us the capabilities of the IT sector in the country as well as in the international arena. In this event, projects that are effective in implementing Smart Bangladesh from Digital Bangladesh will be specially considered.
The best awarded projects will, as always, participate in the international competition of the Apicta Awards, the Oscars of the Asia-Pacific IT sector.
Convener of BASIS National ICT Awards 2022 and President of BASIS Advisory Standing Committee M Rashidul Hasan said that the journey of BASIS National ICT Awards started with Apicta Awards in front. Compared to the previous four BASIS National ICT Awards, this year is going to be held on a larger scale. In the previous events we have received incredible response and success in the country and at the Apicta Awards. Hopefully, this year's awarded products and services will be awarded more than the previous years at Apicta Awards and will brighten the image of Bangladesh abroad.
