Samsung R&D Institute Bangladesh (SRBD) successfully organized coding competition for the third time for university students as part of ongoing process of developing problem solving and research skills of Bangladeshi students. More than 1,608 students/problem solvers from 65 reputed public and private universities of Bangladesh participated in the competition.
The competition is held in 3 phases. The first round of the competition was held online on August 16 this year; Where 1 thousand 608 students registered. After the first round, 348 students/problem solvers qualified for the second round, which was held on September 23.
The top 50 contestants from the second round are invited to participate in the final round. The final round of the competition was held today (September 29) at the campus of SRBD. In the final round, the top 10 contestants are selected as winners. Md. Sabbir Rahman of BUET won the honor of becoming the champion in this competition.
Honorable State Minister Junaid Ahmed Palak, MP and SRBD MD Mr. Wanmo Ku Buet presented the champion trophy and prize money of Rs.50,000/- to Md. Sabbir Rahman.
Before handing over the prizes to the winners, SRBD Managing Director Unmo Ku, BASIS President Russell T Ahmed and Hon'ble Minister of State for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak delivered valuable speeches. Expressing his gratitude to everyone for successfully organizing such competition, Unmo Ku said, “Bangladeshi young engineers and problem solvers have huge potential, if they get proper guidance from institutes like SRBD to practice their skills, they can show their mettle in the global arena as well. can."

After that, a total of Tk 1 lakh 70 thousand was handed over to the 10 winners. Out of this, the champion of the competition Md. Sabbir Rahman of BUET was given 50 thousand taka, the first runner-up was given 30 thousand taka to Ayan Shahriar of Dhaka University and the second runner-up was given to Iftekhar Hakim Kawsar of BUET 20 thousand taka.
