The Dhaka Times Desk After the death of Iranian woman Mahsa Amini, women's anti-hijab protests continue across Iran. The protests, which lasted for two weeks, spread beyond Iran. The death toll in the protests has exceeded 90.

The number of people killed in clashes with the government's various law enforcement forces in protests in Iran centered on the death of Mahsa Amini is gradually increasing. Iran Human Rights, a Norway-based human rights organization, said at least 92 people were killed by government forces in the protests.
The organization has made a statement that the killing of protesters by government security guards is tantamount to a crime against humanity.
Protests against Mahsa Amini's death in police custody continue in several Iranian cities.
Police arrested Mahsa Amini from Saqez, the main Kurdish city of Iran, for not wearing hijab properly. His death in police custody on September 16 sparked protests across the country.
German Foreign Minister Annalena Bierbock also demanded that the European Union impose sanctions on Iran over Amini's death.
Meanwhile, Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi said on state television that Western countries are behind the ongoing protests in his country. There are also reports that several foreign nationals have been detained in the country in the past few days.
