The Dhaka Times Desk Elon Musk, the world's richest technology entrepreneur, said that the chip developed by his company NeuraLing will start clinical trials in the next 6 months.
The company says the chip will help ambulatory patients regain mobility and communication. Musk added that the aim of the chip will be to restore sight to blind people.
Over the past few years, Neuralink has continued to experiment with various animals. It is seeking US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for human clinical trials.
Elon Musk said, "Before deploying the technology in humans, we want to be extremely careful and make sure it works properly."
Competing with Elon Musk's Neuralink is Synchron. The company claimed last July that it was the first time in the United States that it was able to implant its device in a patient. It also received clearance from regulatory authorities in 2021 for human trials.
