This month, from March 1 to March 7, 90 flights of Air India Express and Air Asian India were given to women. In a statement, the company said that 40 domestic and international flights of Air India have been operated by women. Moreover, 40 Air Asian India and 10 Air India Express flights are also given to women.
In this regard, Air India Express CEO Alok Singh said, 'India has the largest number of female pilots in the world. As more Indian women pursue careers in aviation, we are able to achieve gender parity in the workforce. We are very proud that women are playing a special role in important positions of the organization.'
The company also said that 40 percent of its total workforce is women. Moreover, 15 percent of the cockpit crew is being manned by women. It is reported that there are 200 women pilots in Air India. Out of which there are 97 women pilots in Air India Express and Air Asia India.
