He won the biggest prize of the 247 series in the first 'Big Ticket Raffle Draw' of the new year in the capital Abu Dhabi. Emirates-based daily Khaleej Times reported this.
According to the report, the name of the expatriate Bangladeshi who won a huge amount of money in the lottery in the United Arab Emirates is Mohammad Raiful. He is a resident of Al Ain, United Arab Emirates and is a driver by profession.
Khaleej Times said Mohammad Raiful of Al Ain City won the biggest prize ever on a ticket bought on December 10 last year. His ticket number was 043678.
The Big Ticket Lottery was launched almost three decades ago in 1992 to promote Abu Dhabi Airport and the city. This lottery draw is held every month. Prize money value for first place varies monthly. The first prize was 35 crore dirhams (which is about 105 crores in Bangladeshi currency) in January to mark the English New Year.
Indian national Umshad Ulli Vetil won the second prize in this episode, being the first Bangladeshi. He received 10 lakh dirhams. Three other Indians Nirshad Nazar, Robin Kadian and Abdul Burhan Puthiavetil won Dh1 lakh each.
