The Dhaka Times Desk Court granted bail to actress Mahia Mahi after her arrest in Digital Security Act case considering pregnancy and celebrity. However, the police are investigating the allegations.
Gazipur Metropolitan Police arrested Mahi from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport yesterday (Saturday) at 11:30 am. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said that the police complaint against actress Mahia Mahi is being investigated.
It is known that the actress tried to get people's sympathy by lying on the social media Facebook, it is said by the police. He has also filed a complaint against the police. The police alleged that he was on a mission to confuse the police. But neither Mahi nor her husband came to the police regarding any matter related to land. The police filed a case against actress Mahia Mahi and her husband Rakib Sarkar under the Digital Security Act. Mahi was arrested from Shahjalal International Airport yesterday (Saturday) morning. As Mahi is 9 months pregnant, the court granted bail to Mahi, said Mahi's lawyer.
Mahi's arrest and bail sparked widespread discussion and criticism. Actress Mahi, who was on her way to perform Umrah with her husband, complained of the vandalism and attack on Rakib's car showroom on Facebook Live from Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
It is to be noted that before this, a case was registered against actress Mahia Mahi and her husband Rakib Sarkar under the Digital Security Act and another case was filed against them for beating, vandalism and extortion. On Friday (March 17) night, SI Rokon Mia of Basan police station filed this case as the plaintiff. Also, local resident Ismail Hossain filed another case against them on the charge of land grabbing.
Actress Mahi, who was going to perform Umrah with her husband, complained of vandalism and attack on Rakib's car showroom on Facebook Live from Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
She claimed on Facebook Live that her husband has a car showroom called Soniraj Car Palace on the east side of Alam Government College in Bhawal Badr. Miscreants attacked that showroom. The attackers broke the gate of the showroom and entered. They vandalized various furniture, glass doors and windows, tables and chairs in the showroom. The signboard of the showroom was also removed. Miscreants ransacked his office and looted money.
Mahia Mahi alleged that the attack was carried out under the leadership of Ismail Hossain alias Laden and Mamun Sarkar. Mahiya Mahi also accused Gazipur Metropolitan Police of taking bribe on Facebook. The police have filed a case under the Digital Security Act against Mahia Mahi and her husband Rakib Sarkar for defaming the image of the police.
