The Dhaka Times Desk The Tigers beat Ireland by 10 wickets in the third and final match of the three-match ODI series today (March 23, Thursday) to clinch the series 2-0.
After a big 183-run victory in the previous first ODI, the second ODI on March 20 was abandoned due to rain. It was the Tigers' second series win in a span of 10 days. Before that, the red and green team whitewashed England by 3-0 in the T-20 series at home.
Irish captain Andrew Balbirnie won the toss and elected to bat first at Sylhet International Stadium today. Ireland were bowled out for 101 after batting only 28 overs. Pacer Hasan Mahmud took 5 wickets alone with 32 runs. Hasan Mahmud, the right-handed pacer, got the taste of Fifer for the first time in his ODI career. Batting on a target of 102 runs, the Tigers of Bengal reached the target of victory in 13.1 overs without losing any wicket thanks to Liton Das' unbeaten 50 and Tamim Iqbal's unbeaten 41. Tigers won the series by 2-0 after defeating Ireland by 10 wickets.
