Tamimi is the youngest Palestinian child killed in violence this year. Tamimi and her father were shot as they left their home in the Nabi Saleh area of the occupied West Bank. In a statement following the incident, the Israeli army expressed regret for the loss of "civilians". Palestinian journalist Bilal Tamimi was also injured in this incident.
