The Dhaka Times Desk Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel's bail plea has been granted in the fraud and check bounce case. It is known that the actress, accused in the check bounce case of 2.5 crore rupees, surrendered in the Ranchi Civil Court on Saturday (June 17).
It is said that the court has granted the 'Gadar' actress' bail plea conditionally. Ajay Kumar Singh, a resident of Ranchi Harmu district, filed a fraud case against Amisha Patel last April. He is a producer. His complaint is that Amisha invited him to invest money for a film called 'Desi Magic'.
The person claimed that he also transferred Rs 2.5 crore to Amisha's bank account for the production and promotion of the film. The shooting of the film started in 2013 but it has not been completed yet.
Ajay Kumar Singh claimed that Ameesha and her business partner had promised that he would get back the principal with interest after the completion of the film. After repeated delays, Amisha gave two checks of Rs 2.5 crore and Rs 50 lakh to Ajay Kumar Singh in October 2018, which bounced. Ajay then filed a case against Amisha and her business partner Krunal under sections 420 and 120 of the Indian Penal Code.
