The Dhaka Times Desk Asia Pacific Rayon (APR) is showcasing sustainable solutions to the prosperity of Bangladesh's textile sector. The 18th Dhaka International Textile and Garment Machinery Exhibition (DTG) started on February 1 at Dhaka's International Convention City Bashundhara.
Viscose staple fiber (VSF) producer Asia Pacific Rayon participated for the second time in this exhibition, continuing its commitment to Bangladesh's growing textile sector and growing demand for sustainable fashion solutions. APR will showcase this sustainable solution at this exhibition till February 4.
Mentioning Bangladesh as one of the sources of growth and an important market for APR, Tapan Sannigrahi, Vice President of Marketing and Downstream Development, Asia Pacific Region, said, 'In just 5 years, it has become APR's second largest market outside Indonesia. Currently we have 55 percent share of viscose fiber market in Bangladesh. Besides, we are trying to bring lyocell as a sustainable alternative.'
The textile sector is making an important contribution to the economic growth of Bangladesh. Meanwhile, Bangladesh is the second largest textile and garment exporter in the world and ranks among the fastest growing economies in Asia.
In addition to supporting the development of the textile sector, APR is working closely with top textile companies in Bangladesh to popularize viscose and lyocell as sustainable alternatives. In this regard, Sannigrahi said, 'Viscose is fast becoming one of the widely used fibers in the textile sector of Bangladesh. Due to its easy-to-dye facility, the consumption of electricity and water during garment production is reduced. Also, being biodegradable, it is completely eco-friendly.'
Asia Pacific Rayon is a member of Royal Golden Eagle (RGE) Group, a raw material-based manufacturing company headquartered in Jakarta, Indonesia. The company operates a 7,800 tonne capacity state-of-the-art downstream yarn (yarn) spinning facility Asia Pacific Yarn (APY).
APR has maintained its unique position in the yarn sales market, while also contributing to positive results in the respective markets. APR sells quality VSF and yarn to yarn spinners, fabric producers, and garment manufacturers in 16 countries including Indonesia, Bangladesh, Turkey, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka and Vietnam. They are also working to bring about positive change in the textile sector by ensuring the usefulness of recycling and responsible production processes. APR is working to make the textile sector more sustainable in Bangladesh and across the world.
APR places strong emphasis on sustainable transformation and development. In November 2021, the organization announced the APR2030 Sustainability Agenda, which sets out the organization's goals and key 4 pillars for the next decade. Measurable and positive achievements for climate and nature by APR2030
Commitments include ensuring inclusive growth and gender equality at every stage of the value chain, and using recycled products (closed-loop manufacturing processes) in the production of clothing from fibers. The organization seeks to ensure world-class VSF facilities; In this case the European Union is the best
They have consistently met various targets following the Available Techniques (EU BAT) Polymer BREF (Best Available Techniques Reference Documents) and ZDHC MMCF (Man-Made Cellulosic Fibers) guidelines. In APR 2022 Sustainability Report Details on this progress will be forthcoming. News bulletins.

How to prevent dengue
Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral fever. This fever is different from other viral or bacterial fevers. However, this fever is not contagious in any way. This viral fever can occur alone or in combination with other viruses (chikungunya, yellow fever, Burma forest, flu, respiratory syncytial) and bacteria (pneumococcus).
Dengue fever is divided into two categories depending on the severity of symptoms and fever.
1. Common dengue fever
2. Dengue fever with bleeding.
In the case of common dengue fever, the following symptoms are mainly seen-
1. Sudden high fever lasting 2 to 7 days.
2. Severe headache.
3. Pain behind the eyes.
4. Along with the fever, red rash appears all over the body.
5. Severe pain in whole body as well as back pain.
6. Nausea or vomiting.
7. A rash or red bumps on the skin.
In case of dengue fever with bleeding:
1. Bleeding from nose, mouth or vomiting with high fever within 2 to 48 hours.
2. Fluid accumulation in chest or abdomen along with fever.
If any of these symptoms appear, seek medical attention immediately.
On the other hand
Wait at home for the first 3 days of fever. On the other hand, sponge the whole body with water every now and then. This will reduce the level of fever. Drink enough water and rest. After that, if the fever does not decrease or if it continues to increase after some time, consult a doctor immediately.
Things to do to prevent Dengue:
1. Try to keep the surroundings of the house as clean as possible.
2. If there are flower tubs or broken plastic bottles, can shells, tires or polythene inside the house, clean them quickly and drain the accumulated water from the flower tubs.
3. Spray or fog at least 3 times a week to kill mosquitoes.
4. You can keep mosquito repellent cream with you while going out.
5. After evening, younger and older members of the household should use mosquito nets.
6. Clean up any accumulated rain water, as this is the time when Aedes mosquitoes lay their eggs.
7. On the other hand, you can use mats along with mosquito nets to avoid mosquito infestation.
8. Since Aedes mosquitoes bite during the day, it is important to avoid sleeping with mosquito nets while sleeping during the day. Source: https://dmpnews.org
