The Dhaka Times Desk Commanders of Myanmar's junta forces held a meeting with Muslim leaders in Mangdu, a region bordering Bangladesh in Rakhine. During the meeting, army commanders also offered to hand over arms to Muslim leaders in return for working for the junta forces. On February 9, a meeting was held at the 5th Border Guard Police Battalion of Myo Thu Gi village in Maungdu. It was attended by Junta Division Commander Thuren Tun and Divisional Administrator Nayo O. Local Muslim leaders were invited to their meetings. - News of Irrawaddy.
The report quoted the Muslim leader as saying, 'At the meeting, Commander Tharun Tun told us that we Muslims are suffering immensely because of the Rakhine people (Buddhist Arakan Army). That is why we should take up arms against them. This commander even assured us that if a war breaks out near our village, the army will not attack our village. They will only attack Rakhine villages. That's why we work as a junta.'
However, a section of Muslim leaders present at the meeting said they would consider the proposal if they were to be given genuine Myanmar citizenship status. But most of the leaders did not agree to this proposal.
The leader also said that some leaders have demanded to recognize us as real citizens. However, most of the leaders refused to take up arms against the people of Rakhine. Despite this, the army commander urged them to take up arms against the rebels.
Apart from Mangdu, Junta commanders also held a meeting with Muslim leaders in Buchidong, another region bordering Bangladesh. There too, the commanders of Myanmar's junta are encouraging Muslims to take up arms against the rebels.
Meanwhile, the proposal to hand over the weapons of the junta forces to the Rakhine Muslims came at a time when it is known that within the next few days, the Arakan Army, a Buddhist rebel group, will take control of the entire Rakhine after the junta has been ousted.
Meanwhile, the rebel alliance Brotherhood Alliance also released a statement on Sunday (February 18) about the impending fall of the junta forces in Rakhine. In this statement, they said, the junta forces are losing control of one by one junta army camps in Rakhine.
The rebel alliance also claimed that the troops in the strategically important small and large camps would surrender to the rebels within a very short period of time. Arakan Army (AA) fighters continued to attack camps where soldiers had not yet surrendered.
The Brotherhood Alliance also told the media that the junta forces are trying to strengthen their defense system. They are also creating roadblocks to prevent the advance of Arakan Army fighters. Junta troops have already destroyed several bridges.

How to prevent dengue
Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral fever. This fever is different from other viral or bacterial fevers. However, this fever is not contagious in any way. 2. Fluid accumulation in chest or abdomen along with fever.
If any of these symptoms appear, seek medical attention immediately.

Wait at home for the first 3 days of fever. On the other hand, sponge the whole body with water every now and then. This will reduce the level of fever. Drink enough water and rest. After that, if the fever does not decrease or if it continues to increase after some time, consult a doctor immediately.
Things to do to prevent Dengue:
1. Try to keep the surroundings of the house as clean as possible.
2. If there are flower tubs or broken plastic bottles, can shells, tires or polythene inside the house, clean them quickly and drain the accumulated water from the flower tubs.
3. Spray or fog at least 3 times a week to kill mosquitoes.
4. You can keep mosquito repellent cream with you while going out.
5. After evening, younger and older members of the household should use mosquito nets.
6. Clean up any accumulated rain water, as this is the time when Aedes mosquitoes lay their eggs.
7. On the other hand, you can use mats along with mosquito nets to avoid mosquito infestation.
