Mercedes-Benz says it has added three special devices to its new autonomous vehicle. These are: Distronic Plus with Steering Assist And Stop And Go Pilot Technology. It will also have auto camera technology as a driver assistant. Meanwhile, the automatic driving system attached to the new driverless car S500 will only be effective when the car is traveling at 6 km per hour; Above this speed the technology is said to be ineffective.
The car is capable of taking control of the vehicle by itself if the driver suddenly takes his hands off the wheel. It is able to move by itself and at the same time it is able to stop the vehicle by itself if necessary.
According to Mercedes, "they will soon add this technology to their S-Class vehicles without an autonomous driver, and by 2020 they will bring this technology to the market."
