Kurigram representative Adapting to the global climate change, the people of 25 chars of Khas, Kachakata, Kedar, Nunkhawa and Kaliganj Unions of Vallabh Nageshwari Upazila of Kurigram are fighting and surviving. By overcoming drought, flood and winter, these pastoral people are becoming self-reliant. Going to Char Balrampur village of Khas Union of Vallav in Nageshwari Upazila, various activities of climate change projects can be seen. Through this project, we have undertaken special programs to adapt to climate change in 25 char areas of 5 unions of Nageshwari upazila like Char Balrampur village. He also informed that 50 Village Disaster Committees have been formed through the project, with 1000 members, awareness strategies are being increased. Elevation of a total of 60 houses, construction of 2 km connecting road, provision of cement poles to 60 people for repair of houses in high rise houses, provision of sanitary latrines to 60 families, 25 tube wells to ensure safe water, training including provision of solar panels to 243 people, compost pits for production of organic fertilizers for 100 people Created and trained members. Apart from this, 2.5 kilometers of trees have been planted in homesteads, roads, schools, college grounds and land. Providing cattle for food security and providing food and training for them to 16 families, providing training for maintaining and maintaining rice bank in the homes of members for food security to 20 families, helping and also training 10 people in paddy field fish farming.

In this way, local NGOs are making these needy people self-reliant.
