The Dhaka Times Desk BNP chairperson 18 party leader Begum Khaleda Zia said in the public rally of Suhrahardi Udyan, no one-party election will be allowed in this country. He called for a continuous strike from October 27 to 29 as a preliminary movement programme.
Begum Zia strongly criticized the current ruling Awami League in a 32-minute speech starting at 5 pm. Begum Khaleda Zia said, this government has no sympathy for democracy. The current government has made this country bankrupt through corruption and looting, despite talking big. Hallmark, Destiny, Bismillah Group, stock market etc. have done various corruptions. Today the country's main bank Sonali Bank's economy has collapsed. He asked why the Padma bridge was not built. Due to corruption, the work of Padma Bridge was delayed. People should be held accountable for this.
Begum Zia said about Grameen Bank that there is a conspiracy going on with the bank with which so many millions of people of the country are involved. He is Dr. Referring to Yunus, he said, Awami League does not know how to appreciate money people.
Regarding the disappearance of Khaleda Zia, she said that the Awami League has created an army for the disappearance. We also know who it is made of. Ilyas Ali is missing. Chowdhury Alam has been removed. Shibir leader Delawar is being tortured, BNP leader Pintu is being tortured in jail.
He said, the opposition party cannot speak. Can't go to office. BNP, Jamaat offices blocked. The office is being attacked by the police.
Khaleda Zia said to the administration that you should perform your duties impartially and do not condone injustice. I will tell the police force that you will not torture again. There will be no problem. We will not partisanship. Everyone will use it.
Regarding the election, Begum Khaleda Zia said that the election must be held with the participation of all parties in this country. Otherwise no election will be allowed. One-party elections must be stopped.
He said with an ultimatum, we are initially giving the program. If the demands are not met within this period, a more stringent program will be given if the talks are not held. He called for a continuous nationwide strike from 6 am on Sunday 27th to 6 pm on Tuesday 29th.
Begum Zia attended the meeting in the afternoon, but the area around Suhrayardi was filled to the brim from morning.
