The country's first cable car park was established in Rangunia, Chittagong!

The Dhaka Times Desk The world's third largest 2 km long cable car has been installed at Rangunia in Chittagong. The artificial lake surrounded by mountains and the Aviary and Recreation Park (Bird Sanctuary) can be seen from the top by cable car.

Details: This cable car, the only one in the country and the largest in Asia, is built around the lush greenery of Kodala Forest Bit in Rangunia, Chittagong. The country's only aviary and recreation center named Sheikh Russell Aviary and Recreation Park has also been established here.

This large park has been developed in Rangunia keeping nature and wildlife conservation, research and recreation in mind. There will be a collection of thousands of birds from the country and abroad and special initiatives for the preservation and protection of almost extinct native birds.

Rangunia Upazila has a wide range of hills, here Aviary and Recreation Park has been built around these hills. The park is considered to be Asia's largest bird sanctuary in terms of area and also has beautiful artificial lake where birds roam in natural environment.

The entire park area is made to be seen from above with an adventure-rich 2 km long cable car line. A cable car station has been built there by making a tower from the mountain. Passengers will go up and down by cable car from these stations.

This international standard park is ready to attract local and foreign tourists. It has all the facilities including high quality hotel restaurant.

Vipul Krishna, project director of the park and Chittagong South Forest Divisional Officer, said, “This park has been created on 500 acres of vast forest land and hilly areas in Rangunia, keeping in mind these two issues, tourism and bird conservation. Apart from Bangladesh, only Malaysia and Indonesia have such parks in the world.

This modern park has been created under the direct supervision of the higher levels of the government under the Ministry of Forest and Environment of Bangladesh. About 30 crores of Bangladesh government has been financed for the implementation of the project.

The Ministry of Forests and Environment has informed that the entry to this modern park and cable car travel is completely free for the first month. This free entry facility is provided to make people aware about nature and bird biodiversity.

It should be noted that the park is currently planted with several rare native species of trees, so the thousands of birds released here are sure to captivate your heart.
