The 10th National Assembly election will be held on 5th January

The Dhaka Times Desk Next Sunday, January 5, 2014, the 10th National Parliament Election of Bangladesh will be held. Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Raqib Uddin Ahmed announced the election schedule in an address to the nation today at 7:30 pm on Monday. He also said that the army will be deployed to conduct the election smoothly Kazi Rakib.

Kazi Rakib বলেন, “আগামী ৫ জানুয়ারী ২০১৪ সালে সকল রাজনৈতিক দল, বুদ্ধিজীবী, সাংবাদিক, ছাত্রসহ সকল শ্রেণীর জনগণের অংশগ্রহণের মাধ্যমে এবং নির্বাচনের সাথে সম্পৃক্ত সকল শ্রেণীর সরকারি, আধাসরকারি ও বেসরকারি কর্মকর্তা-কর্মচারীদের আন্তরিক প্রচেষ্টায় একটি আনন্দঘন পরিবেশে দশম জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচন অনুষ্ঠিত হবে, এ আশা ব্যক্ত করছি। সর্বশেষে আমি ব্যক্তিগতভাবে সবাইকে আশ্বস্ত করতে চাই যে, একটি সুষ্ঠু, অবাধ ও নিরপেক্ষ নির্বাচন করার লক্ষ্যে প্রয়োজনীয় সকল ব্যবস্থা আমরা গ্রহণ করব। আপনাদের সবাইকে ধন্যবাদ। পরম করুণাময় আল্লাহরাব্বুল আলামীন আমাদের সহায় হউন।”

According to the constitution 24th January Kazi Rakib mentioned in his speech that the Election Commission has taken this decision as the election has been announced. The Election Commission wants to uphold the constitution without delay.

Last day for submission of nomination papers as per schedule December 2, Monday. Applications will be scrutinized 5 to 6 December. Last day for withdrawal of candidature December 13. Acceptance of election Kazi Rakib বলেন, “কাজের মাধ্যমে আমাদের গ্রহণযোগ্যতার প্রমাণ দেব। এজন্যে নির্বাচন আচরণবিধি প্রয়োগে কোনো ছাড় দেওয়া হবে না। কে কোনো পদে আছেন তা দেখা হবে না। তিনি কোনো আচরণবিধি ভঙ্গ করলেন শুধু সেটাই দেখা হবে এবং সে মোতাবেক কঠোর ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হবে। যেকোনো নির্বাচনের সাফল্য অনেকাংশে নির্ভর করে নির্বাচনের প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বী প্রার্থীদের আচরণের ওপর।”
