The Dhaka Times Desk Dr. Mohammad Zafar Iqbal has resigned from the post of professor of Sylhet Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, he was working as a professor of computer science and engineering department of this university.

Basically, after the efforts of Dr. Mohammad Zafar Iqbal, the university authorities decided to conduct the admission test in a cluster system. The upcoming admission test of Shabi and Yabiprabi was supposed to be held in integrated cluster system, but due to the pressure of some local organizations and individuals in Sylhet, the decision to take the new system of admission test was canceled and it was decided to hold the test in the previous system. As a result Dr. Mohammad Zafar Iqbal He felt humiliated and withdrew from all posts, including university teaching.
As per latest news, Dr. Mohammad Zafar Iqbal Shahjalal University of Science and Technology has submitted his resignation letter to Prof. Dr. Aminul Haque Bhuiya, VC. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Zafar Iqbal's wife Dr. Yasmin Haque also resigned from Shabi for the same reason.
Meanwhile, when the news of the beloved teacher's resignation spread, the students gathered in front of Dr. Mohammad Zafar Iqbal's bus building, where they requested Dr. Mohammad Zafar Iqbal to withdraw his resignation letter.
Earlier on Monday morning, an organization under the banner of conscious Sylhet residents came to meet the Shabi VC, along with former principal of Sylhet Jalalabad Cantonment College retired Lt. Col. Ataur Rahman and retired Col. Ali Ahmed. In the meeting, these two persons demanded cancellation of cluster method examination and also insulted Dr. Mohammad Zafar Iqbal. Besides, Dr. Zafar Iqbal mentioned in his open letter to the students that the education minister and the finance minister along with the left parties have taken a direct stand against this examination system. As a result, after all the efforts, it was not possible to take the admission test of the new system.
It should be noted that the batch system is that all the science and technology universities will conduct the admission test on the same day on the same syllabus and from there the students will be selected based on their merit. And after admission different syllabi will be followed in different universities. In this process, students and parents do not have to rush to each university.
